ACCESS was conceptualized, developed, and refined over a period of ten years. As part of that process, ACCESS was systematically evaluated on two occasions: initially in the context of an open clinical trial with 88 undergraduate students with ADHD from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG); subsequently in a large scale, federally funded, multi-site randomized controlled trial with 250 undergraduate students with ADHD from UNCG and Virginia Commonwealth University. Findings from both clinical trials provide strong evidence in support of the efficacy and feasibility of ACCESS as an intervention for young adults with ADHD attending college.
