how to get access?

Starting in the fall of 2025, our team is excited to offer online ACCESS groups to students at ANY college or university. These groups are for students whose schools currently do not offer the ACCESS Program on their campus.

  • Students can participate in groups led by our expertly trained staff.
  • Students will enjoy a small group format, with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 students per group.
  • Students will attend 90-minute weekly group meetings across 8 weeks, beginning in early September and ending in early- to mid-November.
  • Students can sign up for a group that meets on a day/time that works best with their schedule for the duration of the ACCESS Program.

COMING SOON:  additional information about how to register, costs, and other details.

There are three options for bringing ACCESS to students from the same college or university through contractual arrangements with the institutions. For additional information about any of these options, please contact Dr.  Anastopoulos.

Option 1 - Direct Delivery to Students

Our team can deliver an online version of ACCESS to students referred to the program by campus faculty, staff, and administrators.

As part of this arrangement, our team can also provide guidance related to:

  • increasing student awareness of ACCESS on campus
  • determining whether to use a full or modified version of ACCESS
  • scheduling ACCESS to fit best within the academic calendar

Option 2 - Training Campus Staff

Our team can also provide direct in-person and/or online training to staff, faculty, and administrators interested in delivering ACCESS to students on campus.

Our comprehensive training model, which we have used successfully with several universities, involves 20-25 hours of training spread across 2-3 months:

  • This sequence begins with an initial 8-hour training session describing the impact of ADHD on college students and an overview of the ACCESS Program. All interested individuals are invited to attend this first session for the purpose of creating a culture of increased awareness of ADHD and ACCESS on campus.
  • Approximately 1-2 months after this first training, a second 8-hour training session is conducted for a smaller subgroup of attendees comprised of individuals from multiple support staff units, all of whom have a strong interest in and commitment to receiving the additional training necessary to coordinate delivery of ACCESS. To help prepare them for this intensive training, relevant readings and other ACCESS Program materials are provided in advance. The content and format of every group and mentoring session are reviewed in great detail. To facilitate participant learning, we also incorporate group discussion, role plays, clinical vignettes, and video presentations.
  • At the conclusion of this 8-hour training, participants receive materials to facilitate starting ACCESS including: digital copies of the weekly group and mentoring session outlines, the PowerPoint slides used in each group session, and the group and mentoring handouts given to students summarizing the content of each meeting.
  • As needed, our team can also provide an additional 4-5 hours of consultation to campus personnel prior to and during their first implementation of ACCESS.

A scaled-down version of the above training sequence is also available for schools in which creating a culture of increased awareness of ADHD and ACCESS across campus may not be feasible. This might include, for example:

  • Individual campus units (e.g., College of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, counseling centers, disability service offices) that have the staffing and resources necessary for independently delivering ACCESS.
  • The length and format of this training can be tailored to the unique needs and experience levels of the individuals participating in the training.

Option 3 - Combination of Direct Delivery and Staff Training

Our team can also provide direct delivery and staff training to colleges and universities interested in receiving both.

As part of this arrangement, our team can also provide guidance to campus staff related to:

  • increasing student awareness of ACCESS on campus
  • determining whether to use a full or modified version of ACCESS
  • scheduling ACCESS to fit best within the academic calendar

In addition to campus staff, ACCESS training is available for professionals not affiliated with universities who work privately with college students.

  • This would include, but not limited to, ADHD coaches, counselors, mental health practitioners, and health organizations.
  • The exact manner in which this training occurs is flexible and can be tailored to the specific needs and experience levels of the individuals participating in training.

Inquiries about this type of training should be directed to Dr. Anastopoulos.

A published version of the manual that we used in our clinical trials is available to facilitate acquisition of the skills and knowledge necessary for implementing ACCESS in any setting. Included in this manual are:

  • General guidelines for planning and implementation
  • Step-by-step instructions for implementing the group and mentoring portions of the program
  • Useful tips and real-world case material
  • Examples of handouts and worksheets that can be given to students to facilitate their understanding and use of the knowledge and skills targeted by the program
